WA Rebates & Incentives

What WA households can actually claim.

Rebate marketing is full of blur — federal programs dressed up as state generosity, expired schemes still advertised. Here’s the accurate picture for Western Australia, scheme by scheme.

Federal: Small-scale Technology Certificates

The federal STC scheme discounts every eligible rooftop solar install in WA — typically worth thousands on a family-sized system. We calculate it and deduct it from your quote automatically. The value steps down each January until 2030.

Federal: Cheaper Home Batteries

Roughly 30% off the installed cost of an eligible home battery (5–100kWh, approved product list, accredited installer). This is a federal program — it applies in WA alongside the state scheme below.

WA: Residential Battery Scheme

Western Australia’s Residential Battery Scheme offers eligible households a state rebate toward a home battery, with no-interest loan options, for Synergy and Horizon Power customers. It is separate from the federal battery rebate — we assess your eligibility as part of your quote rather than assuming it.

Exported solar is credited under WA’s Distributed Energy Buyback Scheme (DEBS), which pays a higher rate for energy sent to the grid in the evening peak than during the day — one of the reasons a battery stacks up well here. We factor your buyback rate into any payback estimate.

Government incentives, eligibility rules and incentive amounts may change. Final eligibility will be confirmed during the quotation and application process.
